A
little about the "Whiskey
Hollow" and its inhabitants.
Our
children are the fourth
generation to be here. A
beautiful hollow use to
be just below our place,
but is now concealed by
a conservation lake. It
had a winding road with
a little creek that crossed
it several times. The oak
trees were tall and they
cast dark shadows through
out the hollow. When you
drove down the little bumpy
road it was like entering
a mysterious place which
whispered hints of many
secrets and tales. The dirt
road, sometimes very muddy
road, received its name
back during Prohibition.
The local bootleggers hid
their stills and squeezin'
stash all along it just
outside of the town, Brownwood,
Texas. Thus, in time it
became known as Whiskey
Hollow. Brownwood is in
central Texas.
Paul
and I are the proud parents
of five children, ranging
from the age of 32 to 12
years old. Between parenting,
working, and running the
farm we are, as you can
imagine, quite tired by
the end of the day. However,
we find time for our hobbies
which are street rods, horses,
dogue de bordeauxs, stained
glass and last but not least
bass fishing. We are happy
to share with you some of
our interests and hope you
enjoy this site. |
